Positive: We really enjoyed our stay at the Hana Irodori. It’s in a lovely quiet location but quite a way from the town so it’s worth booking half board if you don’t have transport. The staff kindly offered to take us to the station on the day we left, which was really helpful. Other reviews have mentioned décor and the bathrooms being compact. Quite frankly our western style room was clean and extremely spacious and I would far rather have an adequate bathroom and a spacious room than the other way round. We had a sofa next to the window and it was a delight sitting and looking out over the bay and the mountains beyond. We also enjoyed using the onsen baths. Dinner was a fine dining experience and very tasty, as was the breakfast the following morning and I was pleased that the pianist was playing. The only thing to mention is they are sticklers for keeping to the official check in time so bear that in mind. But overall we thought there was a great deal to like about this hotel.
