Positive: The property was decently clean and seemed be in a safe area. The food in the breakfast buffet was surprisingly high quality with plenty of options. While small, my mattress was actually pretty comfortable.

Negative: Unfortunately, I had higher hopes for the quality of the property and accommodations offered. The location is quiet, but a trek from trains, stores and most shops. The lobby is decently modern, but when I opened my room door, I felt like I'd stepped into a Best Western. There was virtually zero space to move anywhere in the room except from the bed to the bathroom or front door. I had to make some modifications to the layout just to be able to put down my bags. While the mattress was more comfortable than it looked, the one pillow per bed is TINY and unsupportive. The room also felt uncomfortably warm even with the thermostat cranked all the way down. The bathroom is cramped to the point of unavoidably knocking things over just getting ready in the morning. No washcloths in the hotel. Only hand towels and full-sized, so if you want a washcloth, take your pick. The water pressure is good and honestly *too* good. Kind of felt like being sprayed with a riot hose. And I don't know if it was the pressure or the water itself, but my skin felt weird after showering and after a couple of days, I even got a weird dry rash. Could be unrelated, but... There were no towels stocked in the gym even though one of the gym rules you have to agree to is to always use a towel to wipe down equipment. There was also no water dispenser in the gym or anywhere in the hotel. If you want water, you have to make the 2 small bottles that housekeeping gives you last or you can buy bottles from the vending machine. Also, I feel like there are some gaps in the property's security. You aren't given a room key, you're given a code. There's nothing to scan, no security staff and no code to punch into to get through front door of the hotel or the elevators.

Summary: Some nice amenities, but I'd choose a more modern place closer to downtown Shinjuku next time.
